The Pathway
Cards unlock as you scroll — just like the knowledge does. Each stage builds on the last.
Level One
Grapes, Regions & the Glass
The essentials every wine person must know — varietals, major regions, soil types, and the vocabulary to describe what you taste. You will taste 40+ wines. No prior knowledge required.
I walked in knowing I liked red wine. I walked out knowing it was a 2019 Côtes du Rhône and why.
Marcus Webb
Former equity trader, now wine buyer at Eleven Madison

Level Two
Systematic Approach to the Palate
The WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting codified into muscle memory. You will learn to assess color, nose, palate, and quality — and communicate it precisely enough that a stranger could picture the wine.
The tasting grid felt like a cage at first. By week four it was a compass.
Priya Chandrasekaran
Restaurant manager, NoMad Hotel NYC

Level Three
Six Glasses, No Labels
Six unknown wines. Clock running. This is where instinct and knowledge fuse. Weekly blind flights cover Old and New World benchmarks. Pass rate for Advanced Sommelier candidates who complete this module: 64%.
Saturday mornings at 9am with a glass of Burgundy. My finance colleagues thought I'd lost it. I had — in the best way.
Tom Blackwood
Left Barclays Capital in 2023, now Advanced Sommelier candidate
Advanced Track
Theory, Service & the Deductive Method
Full mock exams, service practicals, and one-on-one theory sessions. Covers decanting, glassware presentation, customer scenarios, and the full Court of Master Sommeliers Deductive Tasting Method.
My instructor failed me on the mock decant three times. I passed the real thing on the first try.
Diane Okonkwo
Head sommelier, Bern's Steak House, Tampa

All Levels
The Long Table, Every Month
No syllabus. One long table, twelve bottles, thirty people who all want to talk about what's in their glass. These evenings are where the classroom dissolves and the real education begins.
I came for the wine. I stayed because of the people who came for the wine.
Reyes Montoya
Home collector, enrolled in Level Two
